Diageo Plc, the world’s largest spirits maker, has launched the Africa Digital Hub in Kenya to accelerate its digital transformation plans in Africa.
The hub will be based at the East African Breweries Limited (EABL) headquarters in Garden City Office Park, Nairobi, and will be headed by Ms. Waithera Kabiru, formerly the Head of Media Futures at EABL.
The hub will focus on key markets like Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, and Ghana and will play a vital role in deploying digital capabilities.
According to Susan Jones, Diageo’s Global Digital Transformation Lead, the hub is the first of its kind in the region and will serve Diageo’s digital vision.
“To win the next generation celebration by engaging and delighting consumers with world-class experiences across every consumer’s physical and digital touch points.”
Kenya has become a favourite destination for global tech giants due to its impressive mobile penetration, thriving tech innovation, and growing middle class.
EABL launched its direct-to-consumer e-commerce platform, ke.theBar.com, in 2020 and now plans to expand its reach to other African markets.
