Kenya Airways 6 Flights Scheduled to Take Off Sunday

Six Kenya Airways flights are scheduled to take off Sunday afternoon; the airline said amidst a standoff with its pilots to end their strike.

“The flights will cater for the passengers who are already booked to travel,” the carrier stated.

The flights are:

stalemate with pilots 

KQ CEO Allan Kilavuka said Sunday afternoon no pilot had reported on duty, and they were already pursuing “disciplinary action” against them.

“We are still at a stalemate with pilots, but we are still open to talks. This strike is unlawful and we are asking them to come back to work. They are going to be subjected to the normal HR disciplinary process,” he told a media briefing.

However, the Kenya Airline Pilots Association (KALPA) said the KQ management had not made an effort to resolve the current stalemate.

“Kenya Airways management is seemingly not at all bothered with resolving the current stalemate in order to alleviate the passengers’ plight. Instead of coming to the table for a sober discussion and prevent the loss of billions of shillings in revenue, they would rather take the Kenya Airways business to Ethiopia,” KALPA Tweeted Sunday afternoon.
