Kenya Airways (KQ) and Safarilink Aviation have introduced a one-way codeshare partnership, expanding their network to nine new safari destinations.
This collaboration allows travellers to book international and domestic flights on a single ticket, streamlining access to Kenya’s premier safari locations.
Kenya Airways’ global customers can now seamlessly connect to two daily flights serving key airstrips in the Maasai Mara, Amboseli, Nanyuki, and Samburu.
The partnership eliminates separate bookings, enhancing convenience for tourists seeking wildlife adventures.
According to KQ, this initiative supports its growth strategy by offering a competitive, integrated travel solution. “It strengthens our market position and partnerships with travel trade,” the airline stated.
KQ CEO Allan Kilavuka emphasised the partnership’s innovative approach, combining KQ’s global network with Safarilink’s expertise in last-mile connectivity. “We’re optimising aircraft use, minimising delays, and providing smoother, more flexible journeys,” he said. “This also boosts local communities and conservation efforts through enhanced tourism.”
Kenya Airways Turns Profit: Forex Gains Fuel Record Turnaround
In 2024, leisure travel comprised 44.2% of Kenya’s tourist arrivals, highlighting a strong demand for accessible safari experiences.
Safarilink CEO Alex Avedi noted, “Our Cessna Caravans and Dash-8 aircraft ensure efficient access to remote airstrips, maximising visitors’ time in Kenya’s wilderness.”
KQ Chief Commercial and Customer Officer Julius Thairu added, “This single-ticket solution meets travellers’ needs for efficiency and reliability, making Kenya’s world-class safaris more accessible.”
