Former Uchumi Supermarkets Chief Financial Officer, Chadwick Okumu has been appointed Tuskys new financial controller

He takes over from Daniel Ndirangu who left the role in late 2019.

According to his objective, Okumu’s goal is  “To obtain a Finance Directorship position that plays a significant role in Conceptualizing ideas, Developing & Implementing Strategy at Executive level for a Large Multinational Institution, or Equivalent.”

At Uchumi, he worked for eight years as its CFO since January 2007. He was sacked in 2015 alongside the then Uchumi Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Ciano over allegations of gross misconduct and gross negligence. Okumu was arrested in September 2016 over allegations of unscrupulous dealings at the supermarket chain following an audit by KPMG

He previously worked in the finance department at Keroche Breweries and at Reckitt Benckiser.

He holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.)  from Kenyatta University. He has an Accounting  Degree from Strathmore University. He graduated from the University of Nairobi with a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.)
