Ms. Felisters Gitau Mutugu has been named Farmer’s Choice Limited Chief Executive Officer, effective November 1, 2024.
She succeeds Mr. James Taylor, whose leadership over the past four decades has been instrumental in transforming Farmer’s Choice from a small butchery into a leading regional meat producer.
Ms Gitau, who has served as Deputy Managing Director of Commercial since 2022, brings over a decade of experience in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector.
She is a seasoned leader with a proven track record in commercial strategy, operational excellence, and marketing. Her passion for women’s empowerment and social impact is evident in her role on the Steering Committee for the Kenya Livestock Sector Transformation under the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development.
As CEO, Ms. Gitau will prioritize customer experience, process automation, and expanding the company’s production capacity and footprint across the continent.

Mr. Taylor will continue to play a strategic role in the company’s future direction.
