Consumer prices in Kenya rose in July at the fastest annual rate in three months. Annual inflation rose to 6.27% in July from 5.70% the previous month, according to Kenyan National Bureau of Statistics on Wednesday. Kenya’s inflation is projected to rise by 6.0% in July mainly on lower base effects but to remain with the 2.5% – 7.5%, target range. “Traditionally, interest rates track inflation movements due to the need to compensate investors for the erosion of returns as well as the implication for policy action. Regional low-cost carrier, Jambojet plans to increase its frequencies to the Coastal towns of Mombasa, Ukunda (Diani) and Malindi next month (August).
