Xiaomi launched its first flip phone, the Mix Flip, on Friday. The phone starts at 5,999 yuan ($825).

A unique feature is the ability to print photos instantly using a separate portable printer sold for 499 yuan ($68) with photo paper included.

Xiaomi also released the Mix Fold 4, the latest version of its folding phone. Unlike its predecessor, the Mix Fold 4 does not emphasize new AI features but maintains its previous price of 8,999 yuan.

Notably, Xiaomi founder Lei Jun highlighted the phone’s ability to translate languages simultaneously on both screens.

Xiaomi Electric Car Sees Strong Demand

Lei Jun also provided updates on the company’s electric car venture. He announced that cumulative deliveries of the SU7 sedan, launched in March at a lower price than Tesla’s Model 3, have exceeded 30,000 vehicles.

Due to high demand, the factory has doubled its shifts and now operates 16 hours a day. Xiaomi aims to deliver 100,000 cars by November, a month earlier than planned.

An August update will enable voice control of the SU7 from outside the car. In his opening speech, Lei Jun explained how U.S. sanctions in 2021 prompted Xiaomi to diversify beyond smartphones and invest $10 billion in the electric car sector.

He also revealed plans to develop a high-performance SU7 variant aiming to become the fastest four-door electric car on the Nurburgring race track in Germany, with testing starting in October.
