Nairobi Street Kitchen in Westlands hosted the Nairobi Beer Festival 2023 on July 8–9, treating beer enthusiasts to an extraordinary experience of beer, food, and fashion. 

At the Nairobi Beer Festival 2023, attendees were welcomed with a perfectly chilled Guinness.

Expert Guinness ambassadors demonstrated the meticulous technique required to serve the drink with precision and finesse.

Consumers enjoyed a Guinness that was fizzing with energy, with subtle notes of coffee perfectly balanced with the sweetness of chocolate.

All while being immersed in the sounds of Nairobi’s top DJs. 

This truly celebrated the brand’s rich heritage and unwavering commitment to excellence.

East African Breweries PLC (EABL) reported Kshs 57.3 billion in net sales for the half year ended December 31, 2022, representing a 4 per cent growth compared to the same period in 2021.

In July 2022, Kenya’s excise tax for beer and spirits came into effect following the 2022–23 Budget, increasing by 10 per cent and 20 per cent, respectively. 

In October 2022, beer and spirits consumers were hit by a further 6.3 per cent excise tax increase in the form of an annual inflationary adjustment. 

During the period, beer volumes were down 13 per cent in Kenya.

As a result, EABL’s net sales growth regressed by 1 per cent in Kenya, its largest market, while Uganda and Tanzania grew by 19 per cent and 11 per cent, respectively.
