The Kenyan government has extended the deadline to acquire a biometric passport by 10 months from March 2021 to Dec 31, 2021. The extension of the deadline has been attributed to the scaled-down operations of the Directorate of Immigration services. Interior CS Fred Matiangi’ says Kenyans have until 31st December 2021 to acquire the new East Africa Community biometric e-passport. “For the avoidance of doubt, starting 1st January 2022, the old dark blue passport will be null and void. Regional low-cost carrier Jambojet on Tuesday announced a flexible payment scheme called ‘Jaza pole pole’ under which passengers will have to pay as low as  Ksh 2,670 per person the total fare amount at the time of booking. Passengers can pay the remaining balance in “three instalments” for bookings made at least 60 days in advance under this scheme, Jambojet said in a press release. “Passengers are required to complete paying for their tickets within 21 days prior to the date of travel to any of Jambojet’s destinations,” the statement reads.
