Spotify, the world’s leading music and podcast streaming platform, has partnered with Orange, one of the largest mobile operators in Africa, to offer millions of African music fans access to Spotify via the Orange platform. Shared mobility, which includes services like ride-hailing, scooter and e-bike rentals, and car-sharing, is expected to grow from 3% to 7% of all urban transport journeys globally by 2030, reaching a market size of $401 billion.  This is according to a new report from Oliver Wyman, a global management consultancy, based on data from Bolt, Europe’s largest operator in the sector. The Sarrai Group, a local industrial conglomerate, and Rwimi Holdings, a regional investment firm, have agreed to buy Hima Cement Ltd., a Ugandan subsidiary of Bamburi Cement Group, for USD 120 million.  The deal will give the buyers 100% ownership of Hima Cement Ltd., which is one of the leading cement producers in Uganda.  The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions. Tanzania and Uganda signed a bilateral agreement to build a natural gas pipeline. The pipeline will carry natural gas from Tanzania’s south to Uganda, which will power factories and generate electricity.  Deputy Prime Minister Doto Biteko of Tanzania and Minister of Energy and Mineral Development Ruth Nankabirwa of Uganda signed the agreement.
