VON has opened its first standalone retail store at Nairobi Mega Mall, 15 years after the home appliance brand entered the Kenyan market. The store gives the brand a shop of its own after years of selling through dealers and supermarkets.
Hotpoint Appliances Limited owns VON and runs the store. The ground floor outlet carries the full VON range under one roof for the first time.
What the store offers
Customers get discounts of up to 50 per cent in the first week, with a further 10 per cent off VON products. VON products already sit in more than 600 stores across Kenya. Hotpoint chose Nairobi Mega Mall for its location and treats the shop as the first of several standalone VON outlets.
“We’ve been selling the VON brand in Kenya for more than 15 years, and we’ve got our best, most experienced salespeople stationed here at our store,” said Hotpoint Chief Executive Ravi Kanani.
Why VON wants a store of its own
Kanani said the brand now reaches enough households to justify a showroom. VON products enter more than 30,000 homes in Kenya every month, and the company won Superbrands status in Kenya this year.
“VON is now available everywhere in the market, and that’s why we felt we needed one place where we could showcase a lot of the VON products,” he said.
He described the opening as a milestone for the brand.
“15 years after VON entered the market, today it has a home of its own,” Kanani said. “For me, this is about much more than opening a store. It is another milestone in the journey of a brand that was born in Kenya and built for Africa.”
Warranty extended to two years
From October 1, VON extended its general warranty to two years. Kanani said the change reflects the company’s confidence in the products it puts in customers’ homes. He thanked the teams and partners who worked on the store, and said no single person or department delivers a milestone like this.
Plans for other African markets
Kanani said the company wants to take the store concept beyond Kenya with regional partners. “Our ambition is bigger than one store,” he said. “Today is the first. The first of many. Born in Kenya. Built for Africa. Designed to Love.”
Hotpoint’s retail base
Hotpoint Appliances Limited opened its first store at Sarit Centre in Nairobi in 1984. The company runs 13 stores nationwide, with service centres in Nairobi and Mombasa staffed by factory trained technicians. VON sits alongside brands Hotpoint distributes, including LG, Samsung and Bosch. In May 2026, Hotpoint added Hisense to its distribution portfolio.
Kanani has tied VON’s design to local buyers. At an April 2026 event on built in kitchens, he said built in appliances are becoming the standard that buyers expect. The Nairobi Mega Mall store tests whether shoppers will buy that range from a brand shop rather than a multi brand retailer.
