Kenya’s Ministry of Education (MoE) has unveiled the official academic calendar for 2025, outlining key dates for primary and secondary schools.

Key Dates for the 2025 Academic Year

    • First Term: Start Date: January 6, 2025
    • End Date: April 4, 2025
    • Half-Term Break: February 26 – March 2, 2025
    • Second Term: Start Date: April 28, 2025
    • End Date: August 1, 2025
    • Third Term: Start Date: August 25, 2025
    • End Date: October 24, 2025

National Examinations and Assessments

  • Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA): October 21-24, 2025
  • Kenya Intermediate Level Education Assessment (KILEA): October 27-31, 2025
  • Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) and Kenya Pre-Vocational Level Education Assessment (KPLEA): October 27 – November 6, 2025
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE): November 3-21, 2025

Following the conclusion of national exams, students will enjoy a 10-week holiday from October 27, 2025, to January 2, 2026.
