Shiro Theuri, a Kenyan software engineer, has been appointed as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Glovo, a global on-demand delivery platform.

Theuri announced her appointment on LinkedIn, highlighting her career journey and her new role at Glovo.

Theuri joined Glovo in 2022, relocating from Nairobi to Barcelona, the company’s global headquarters.

Prior to Glovo, she held senior engineering positions at various startups and small businesses, including VP of Engineering at Sendy and CTO at FrontlineSMS.

“I am thrilled to lead and drive innovation at Glovo,” Theuri said on LinkedIn.

“My main goals are to deliver exceptional customer experiences and build robust tech and data strategies to scale our platform globally. As a passionate mentor, I’m excited to empower women and support diversity in technology.”

Theuri holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Egerton University and a Master’s degree in Computer Software Engineering from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.
