iZola, a health-tech startup focused on solutions for parents of neurodivergent children, has appointed Dr. Leah Kirumbi as its Chief Medical Advisor.

Dr. Kirumbi is a highly respected figure in maternal and child healthcare, with over 30 years of experience in East Africa. Notably, she performed Kenya’s first in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedure in 2004.

Beyond her professional experience, Dr. Kirumbi brings a unique personal perspective. As a primary caregiver for a neurodivergent child for over 40 years, she understands the challenges these families face.

This combination of expertise and personal connection is a strategic asset for iZola, according to CEO Dr. Wamuyu Owotoki.

“Dr. Kirumbi’s experience as a leading child specialist and her commitment perfectly align with our mission to transform healthcare journeys for families with support needs,” Dr. Owotoki said.

“Her deep understanding of both the medical and personal aspects of caring for a neurodivergent child will be invaluable as we develop new solutions.”

Dr. Kirumbi is excited to leverage her experience to help iZola achieve its goals.

“I’m honoured to join iZola,” she said. “I believe, together, we can simplify the healthcare journey for these children and their families through innovative, AI-powered solutions.”

Dr. Kirumbi’s appointment strengthens iZola’s commitment to providing exceptional support and effective, empathetic healthcare solutions for families with neurodivergent children.
