Hunter’s Choice, a beloved Kenyan whisky brand, is raising the bar with a stylish new bottle redesign and a three-month “Explore Boldly” campaign celebrating young achievers.

This exciting initiative, running for three months across Nairobi, Kisumu, Eldoret, and Nakuru, targets young Kenyan men (aged 20-35) who are driven by purpose and ambition.

The “Explore Boldly” campaign underscores Hunter’s Choice’s commitment to its core audience and their aspirations. It positions the brand as a companion on their journey to success, celebrating individual achievements along the way.

Dr. Senorine Wasike, Kenya Wine Agencies Limited’s Head of Marketing, says the campaign aligns with the brand’s message, “Within the golden liquid lies the golden moments of everyone’s successful endeavours.”

“We know our target audience is young and ambitious, hopes for better and works towards it. He’s hungry for success, respect and admiration of his peers. If he makes it that will truly set him apart.”

What’s New?

KWAL, the makers of Hunter’s Choice, have crafted a revamped bottle featuring: Improved closure, a modern and vibrant label and unchanged taste and price.

“Our insights revealed that Hunter’s Choice fits seamlessly into their lifestyles and provides diversity,” said Dr. Senorine Wasike during the rebrand launch.

The last bottle upgrade happened in April 2018, and this new design reflects KWAL’s commitment to continuous improvement.

Hunter’s Choice Whisky was first produced by KWAL as a blended whisky on 19th October 1999. 

“The new upgraded bottle has three key features: a new closure, a vibrant and modern label, and a new brand proposition. This new closure is aimed at securing the brand as a leader in the local whisky category,” said Mr Jonas Geeraerts, KWAL Commercial Director.

In 2023, Kenya Wine Agencies Limited (KWAL) revealed it would be prioritising growth in the spirits category, the fastest-growing segment of the country’s alcohol industry.

To capitalize on this rising demand, KWAL invested Ksh 5 billion in its Tatu City Industrial Park factory to boost production capacity for its extensive portfolio of wines, spirits, and ciders.
