In Kenya, Bolt Food had the most expensive order of 2023 at KES 89,000 and was the most frequent customer with over 500 orders.

Distance was not an issue for customers who wanted their favourite meal, with the longest delivery of the year at 98 km.

Bolt celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2023, reaching over 150 million customers in more than 500 cities across 45 countries. Bolt Rewind data reveals the global and local transport trends of its customers.

Globally, Bolt ride-hailing customers preferred Friday and Saturday evenings, and most often travelled to and from airports and train stations. Bolt’s pet category had a big year, with over 4.8 million journeys taken with furry companions.

For food, Friday was the most popular day for orders, cheeseburgers were the most requested dish, and bananas were the top grocery item.

Linda Ndungu, Country Manager, said: “This year, our 150M+ customers helped us move closer to our mission of making better cities, not private cars. By choosing shared mobility options like ride-hailing and Bolt Food for food delivery, we reduced the need for private cars.”

“To continue our mission, we invite everyone in Kenya to share their ideas on how to make their city more people-friendly through our social media channels, and we’ll pick one to implement.”

Edgar Kitur, Bolt Food Country Manager, said: “In a year of remarkable milestones, our delivery service exceeded expectations, setting new standards in efficiency and customer satisfaction. As we say goodbye to 2023, we appreciate our couriers’ dedication.”

“We look forward to a more dynamic year with exciting opportunities for our couriers to increase their earnings. We aim for a year of innovation, growth, and unparalleled service in the delivery world.”
