Amazon Web Services, Inc. subsidiary of Amazon will launch its services in Kenya in 2022. Amazon Web Services offers reliable, scalable, and inexpensive cloud computing services. Free to join, pay only for what you use.

Other countries that AWS will be available through its Local Zones in 2022 include the Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, India, Kenya, Netherlands, Norway and South Africa.

“I’m very excited to announce that we will be expanding the local zones internationally across the world in Europe, South America, Africa, Asia and Australia,” Amazon CTO Werner Vogels said during the re: Invent conference.

Kenya already has the Amazon CloudFront, the third in Africa in addition to two in South African cities Johannesburg and Cape Town. Some of the benefits of the edge location provided by AWS include giving businesses and web application developers an easy and cost-effective way to distribute data housed in Kenya to thousands of users with low latency and high data transfer speeds.
