Safaricom has launched MySafaricom App, a new lifestyle app that will provide customers and users with an easy and efficient way to access its products and services under one roof.

“For the new Safaricom app, we set out to do a lifestyle app, not a utility one, and we hope customers will have better experiences,” said Fawzia Ali-Kimanthi, Safaricom Head of Digital Products and Services during its formal launch Wednesday.

Fawzia said through the app, users have more visibility on their usage with the new App.

The app comes with three critical pillars: Security, an automatic authentication using a One Time Password (OTP) when a user signs up;  Control, for postpaid customers who can be able to see their usage daily, and Usage where users will be able to know how much data they have used.

Additional features on the app include a simpler  way to buy and read the local dailies – The Standard, Daily Nation, People Daily and The Star -, quick access to sign up and pay for home fibre and a direct link to Safaricom’s chatbot, Zuri through WhatsApp, messenger or Telegram.

Safaricom has also made it easier for users to get their PUK and access to balance on the app.

The app has been on beta since February 2020 with over 50,000 users have tested and provided feedback according to Fawzia.

The app is available on Google Play and on iOS on the App Store.
