Beauty entrepreneur Huddah Monroe, just made history by becoming the first Kenyan woman to land on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar, an American women’s fashion magazine September issue.

On the cover, she flaunts with a flower-filled Birkin in a sequined Michael Kors Collection dress that shimmers in vivid violet hues.

She couldn’t hide her joy from her Instagram post.

“I’m a big believer that change is good,” she said. “Thank you Harpers Bazaar US Magazine for helping me share this experience on the SEPTEMBER ISSUE. I never one day imagined I’d be in one of the Worlds biggest fashion magazines.”

She opens up about her upbringing as one that was difficult for her.

“The only thing we had was poverty. The only thing we didn’t have was food. I knew from a young age that I wanted to be an independent woman, and I saw an opportunity to start my own business and help other women feel beautiful.”

She also revealed her plans to open up a Huddah Monroe beauty store in LA to sell her products.

“To me, LA is like the world’s greatest party, known for its Mediterranean climate, ethnic diversity, Hollywood, the entertainment industry, and it is the “misunderstood city”, If you’re lucky enough to travel anywhere, this is a place you have to go & make the most of it. Have fun, take advantage of the opportunities and meet as many people as you can.”

In 2018, Huddah Cosmetics, her beauty company, leveraged its brand on Mula to bring new shopping experience using Augmented Reality (AI) on Facebook Messenger in partnership with Cellulant and Facebook where customers can discover, try the product before they buy.
