Kenya’s 3Q18 economy grew at its fastest pace in December, thanks to favourable weather conditions, coupled with a stable macroeconomic environment. Data from the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) in 3Q18 showed the country’s economy grew 6.3% between March and June. This was a 1.6% growth compared to 4.7%GDP growth recorded in 2017. President Uhuru Kenyatta has appointed Safaricom Chief Executive Officer Bob Collymore and Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Group Joshua Oigara to the Vision 2030 Delivery Board. In a gazette notice President Kenyatta also appointed four others – Julianna Rotich, Rita Kavashe, Nick Nesbitt, Muchai Kunyiha – to the board alongside the two. The appointment of the six took effect on December 14, 2018, and will run for a period of three years.
