The Kenyan Section of the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ Kenya) has confirmed Ms Elsy Chemurgor Sainna as Executive Director. In a statement issued Friday, Kelvin Mogeni, ICJ Kenya chairman said her appointment became effective 1 April 2021, a position she was serving in an acting capacity. The East African Community tourism and hospitality industry was devastatingly affected due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 as a result of massive reductions in international tourist arrivals, receipts, jobs, visitors to parks and hotel occupancy rates. The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) has signed an agreement with E4Impact Foundation, an Italian organization, to provide support to Kenyan financial technology startups.
