Santam, a South African financial services group has hired Tavaziva Madzinga to serve as its new chief executive from July 2022. He will be succeeding Lizé Lambrechts who plans to retire in 2022. Madzinga will be appointed as executive director from 1 April 2022 and CEO with effect from July 1  2022, the insurer said in a statement on Wednesday. “She (Lize) will remain in her role as Chief Executive until 30 June 2022 to facilitate a smooth transition to Tava,” the firm says. Centum Real Estate Limited has earned KSh 1.1 billion revenue from the sale of houses in the six months ended September 2021. The strong sales helped Centum Real Estate to record a  KSh 144 million gross profit from residential units in the first half of the year. Tavaziva Madzinga, managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO) of Britam Holdings, has decided to exit after heading the Insurance Group for ten months. Mr Madzinga will officially leave Britam in April 2022. Mr Charles Njuguna has been appointed the deputy managing director. “I will be pursuing an opportunity in another market and this is part of succession planning. We wanted to signal the market very early appointing Charles as the new deputy managing director as we transition smoothly,” said Mr Madzinga. Sidian Bank rode a recovery in pandemic-hit Kenyan markets to post a stronger-than-expected consolidated net profit of KSh369 million for the year ended September 30, 2021, compared to a profit of KSh8 million in a similar period last year.
