The Kenya Mortgage Refinance Company (KMRC) approved International Finance Corporation(IFC) and Shelter Afrique as shareholders. KMRC is a public-private partnership (PPP) firm formed by the government to make home loans affordable in the country. The two were admitted during the first virtual Annual General Meeting after each contributed KSh200 million. KMRC disclosed to have raised KSh2 billion as capital from shareholders. Other shareholders include the National Treasury, and 20 Primary Mortgage Lenders (PMLs), eight commercial banks, one Micro Finance Bank, and 11 Savings and Credit Cooperatives. The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) has postponed the Afro-Asia Fintech Festival 2020 (AAFF 2020) to next year citing health concerns.  The event had been scheduled for 13-14 July 2020, but it will now take place in July 2021. “The postponement follows careful consideration by the co-hosts, CBK and the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) and the utmost importance of the health and safety of the festival participants,” said the CBK on Tuesday. “However, the spirit of the AAFF will be kept alive in 2020 through virtual events.” In 2019, Kenya hosted…
