Kenyan legislators have been ordered to pay back KSh 1.2 billion ($10 million) by the High Court which ruled that the money had been unlawfully given to them as housing allowances. Tullow Oil’s license for oil exploration in blocks 10BB and 13 in the South Lokichar basin scheme has been extended until 2021. In a statement, the British oil and gas exploration company said the license extension will allow its joint venture partners to re-assess Project Oil Kenya. Kenya’s Capital Markets Authority has granted approval to Centum Real estate to issue secured zero-coupon and secured zero-coupon equity-linked Medium Notes of Ksh 4 billion with a greenshoe option of Ksh 2 billion. According to CMA, the restricted issue targets sophisticated investors who are sufficiently versed with the risks associated with the notes, in line with Section 30(b) of the Capital Markets Act.
