Tullow Oil Plc and its partners are seeking strategic partners for the next phase of its Kenya project aimed at ensuring its viability. KenGen has received the green light to sell an equivalent of 4.6 million tonnes of carbon emissions earned over the last 18 months. This follows the finalization of the verification of its six projects by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). KenGen produces about 72 per cent of the electricity consumed in Kenya, with an installed generation capacity of 1,818MW, of which over 86 per cent is drawn from green sources namely: Hydro (826MW), Geothermal (713MW), Thermal (253MW), and Wind (26MW). Kenya Airways (KQ) has decided to lease out two of its Embraer E190 aircraft to the Democratic Republic of Congo-based (DRC) carrier. This is part of the codeshare partnership established in April 2021. The National Cereals and Produce Board has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Safaricom’s DigiFarm Kenya Limited to enable small-scale farmers to access post-harvest management services through the digital platform. NCPB shall offer post-harvest management services to farmers registered on the platform, while DigiFarm will connect NCPB to small-scale farmers, who will in turn, access NCPB services at prevailing rates. Canon has partnered with Text Book Centre (TBC) to offer practical and impactful skills to junior learners in Kenya through an initiative dubbed Canon Academy Junior.
