Airtel has upgraded its Africa Developer Portal integrating its remote payments with Airtel Money wallets. This is aimed at driving better efficiency for businesses to engage in seamless mobile money activity with its dedicated mobile money platform. The company says the highly secure and seamless portal was created especially for merchants and e-commerce businesses to create, discover and integrate into their fast-growing library of Open APIs. Standard Chartered Bank Kenya reported a 46.6 per cent net profit growth in the nine months ended September. It posted a net profit of KSh6.3 billion compared to KSh4.3 similar period in 2020. This was attributed to lower costs and higher non-interest income. The lender’s net interest income, largely from loans and advances, increased by 2.8 per cent to KSh14.71 billion. Kenya’s diaspora remittances rose by 19.9 per cent in the twelve months to October compared to the corresponding period of last year, however, they were not enough to shore up the shilling.
