Cholera cases have continued to rise in Kenya according to the Nairobi Hospital following the death of one of its staff. Nairobi, the country’s capital, has been most notably impacted with seven of the hospitals being admitted. “There is an upsurge of cholera cases in the county of Nairobi. We have had several cases admitted in our hospital. Unfortunately, we had 8 staff affected,” said Dr Chris Abeid, the acting Chief Executive Officer in a statement. The government will start deducting 1.5% housing levy by the 9th of every succeeding month beginning May according to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development. “…provided that the sum of the total monthly contributions shall not exceed KSh5,000. Kenya’s business community has realized savings estimated at KShs. 2.5 billion when the implementation of the National Electronic Single Window System (Kenya TradeNet) begun in 2016. According to Kenya TradeNet CEO Amos Wang’ora 11,400 users are registered in the National Single window, 36 of them being government agencies. “The System has simplified trade procedures and processes, resulting to reduced delays, improved convenience, substantial cost savings, and improved collaboration,” he said during the signing of a KSh150 million partnership with TradeMark East Africa (TMEA).
