Sidian Bank has now claimed awards at the Think Business Insurance Awards for three consecutive years, reinforcing its standing as one of Kenya’s most competitive bancassurance intermediaries.
At the 2026 ceremony, Sidian Bancassurance took home recognition across three categories:
- 1st Runners-Up: Overall Best Bancassurance Intermediary in Kenya
- 2nd Runners-Up: Best Bancassurance Intermediary in Non-Life and Non-Embedded Products
- 2nd Runners-Up: Best Bancassurance Intermediary in Technology Application
A Track Record Built Year by Year
The 2026 wins build on a consistent pattern of recognition. At the 2025 awards, Sidian Bancassurance earned 1st Runner-Up for Best in Non-Life and Non-Embedded Products, 1st Runner-Up for Best in Life Products, and 2nd Runner-Up for Overall Best Bancassurance Intermediary.
A year earlier, the 2024 awards named Sidian the Best Bancassurance Intermediary in Risk Management. The institution also placed 2nd Runner-Up in four additional categories that year: Overall Best Bancassurance Intermediary, Most Customer-Centric Bancassurance Intermediary, Best Bancassurance Intermediary in Non-Life and Non-Embedded Products, and Best Bancassurance Intermediary in Technology Application.

What Sidian Bancassurance Actually Offers
Behind these awards sits a broad product suite that Sidian delivers through its subsidiary, Sidian Bancassurance Intermediary Limited. Customers access cover directly through their banking relationship, removing the friction of dealing with separate insurers. The offering spans four main areas.
General Insurance covers the risks businesses and individuals face every day. Employers can protect themselves against legal liability under WIBA 2007, with death benefits running to 96 months of salary and medical expense cover of up to KShs 100,000 per employee. Contractors working on building or civil engineering projects access all-risk cover that includes contract works, plant and machinery, and third-party liability. For businesses moving goods, Goods-in-Transit cover protects cargo from loading to delivery, while Marine Insurance extends that protection to air, sea, road and rail, covering cargo movement, hull damage, and third-party crew liability. SMEs and homeowners can also secure cover against fire and perils, burglary, money in transit, and all-risk protection for valuable or portable equipment.
Motor Insurance covers private and commercial vehicles, including PSVs, lorries, tractors and motorcycles. Customers choose from third-party only, third-party fire and theft, or fully comprehensive policies. Comprehensive cover carries optional extensions for windscreen damage, riots and civil commotion, special perils such as floods and earthquakes, terrorism, bail bond, loss-of-use car hire, and personal accident.
Health and Life Cover addresses the longer-term financial risks that households and employers face. Medical insurance serves corporates, groups and individuals with inpatient, outpatient, dental, optical, maternity and funeral benefits, along with cover for pre-existing and chronic conditions. Life assurance products include endowment, term life, whole life and money-back policies. The Sidian Farewell Plan pays out within 48 hours of a valid claim, covering the main member, spouse and up to four children. Credit Life cover settles outstanding loan balances in the event of death, permanent disability or retrenchment.
Agricultural Cover reaches Kenya’s farming sector through Livestock Insurance, which compensates for animal deaths caused by accidents, illness, disease or emergency slaughter on veterinary advice. Crop Insurance covers physical loss or damage to growing crops from drought, pests, hailstones, flooding, fire, malicious damage and other perils. The cover extends to harvested yield in temporary storage or in transit to a buyer.
Why the Technology Award Matters
The repeated recognition for technology application signals that Sidian has moved insurance access into the same digital environment where its customers already bank. For SMEs that manage cash flow, payroll and trade finance through Sidian, adding a WIBA policy or a marine cargo cover no longer requires a separate appointment or a different institution. That integration, more than any single product, explains why the bank keeps appearing on the awards shortlist.
