Applications for the 2026 MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) intake are now open, offering fully funded training for aspiring African filmmakers, scriptwriters, producers, and storytellers.
The Pan-African film and television training institution, MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF), has announced applications for its 2026 intake. The programme invites graduates across Africa who aspire to become directors, producers, scriptwriters, and storytellers to apply for a nine-month, fully funded course at its academies in Kenya, Nigeria, and Zambia.

Having recently become part of CANAL+, MultiChoice has renewed its commitment to delivering compelling programming to African audiences. A key pillar of this vision is empowering young creatives with filmmaking and storytelling skills.
“Any young Africans who dream of telling Africa’s stories can apply, to join the MultiChoice journey to give Africa a stronger voice on the world stage,” the company stated.

Comprehensive Curriculum
The 2026 intake introduces a hybrid curriculum that balances theory with practical immersion. Students will benefit from:

- Intensive in-person training

Since its inception in 2018, MTF has trained 296 filmmakers and produced over 42 movies. Graduates’ projects are broadcast on DStv, GOtv, and Showmax, reaching millions of viewers across the continent.
Alumni Success and Industry Impact
MTF alumni have consistently demonstrated strong career outcomes. Many graduates join the MultiChoice ecosystem, contributing to flagship productions, while others establish their own ventures. Over 50 production companies have been launched to date.
MTF’s hyperlocal content approach has also translated into international recognition. Alumni have won awards at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), Kalasha Awards, Uganda Film Festival, and the Women in Film Awards. They have also showcased work at global platforms such as the European Film Market and Durban FilmMart.
