The Safaricom Chapa Dimba All-Stars Team departed Nairobi on Saturday evening, 6th September, for a week-long international training camp in Huesca, Spain.
The squad comprises 25 standout players selected from across Kenya, chosen for their exceptional talent and potential to break into professional football.
In total, 32 players were named to the All-Star roster. While 25 will travel to Spain, the remaining seven have already secured call-ups to national and international clubs—underscoring the program’s growing reputation as a launchpad for elite football careers.
“Chapa Dimba has always been about opening doors of opportunity for Kenyan youth, and today, we are proud to see that vision come alive in an even bigger way,” said Dr. Peter Ndegwa, CEO of Safaricom PLC.
“To see players like Austin Odongo, Emily Moranga, and Khamis Nyale break into professional clubs, while others take this next big step in Spain, fills us with immense pride.”
Training, Matches & Cultural Exchange
During their stay, the All-Stars will:
- Compete against Huesca’s Youth Academy
- Participate in expert-led masterclasses with professional players
- Train at the Base Aragonesa de Fútbol, S.D. Huesca’s world-class sports city
- Attend a live Segunda Division match: SD Huesca vs Málaga CF
- Explore Spanish culture through guided city tours and sightseeing
“Visiting Spain and experiencing world-class football has always been a dream. I’m determined to learn as much as possible and grow my career,” said Swaumu Masungo, Plateau Queens midfielder.
