Proto Energy Limited has announced an environmental milestone in its 2025 Half-Year Sustainability Report: a reduction of 7,085.76 tonnes of CO₂ emissions, equivalent to the impact of growing 4,723.84 hectares of eucalyptus trees for one year.

Themed “Creating a World of Endless Possibilities Through Sustainable Practices,” the report outlines Proto Energy’s structured ESG strategy anchored on three pillars:
- Environmental Impact: Emissions reduction, energy efficiency, and tree planting
- Social Responsibility: Health, education, and community empowerment
- Governance: Ethical leadership, ISO-certified operations, and transparent reporting
This framework aligns with key UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 3 (Good Health), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), and SDG 13 (Climate Action).
Key Highlights from H1 2025
- Education: 38 schools transitioned from firewood to LPG cooking systems, improving indoor air quality and student well-being
- Health: 3 medical camps conducted for staff and local communities
- Women’s Empowerment: 37 female employees participated in leadership and growth programs
- Environmental Stewardship: 600 trees planted across operational sites
- Safety Recognition: Proto Miritini Plant named best workplace in the Oil & Gas category at the DOSH awards

Roadmap to a Greener Future
Proto Energy’s sustainability journey is guided by a multi-phased roadmap:
- Phase 1 (2025): ESG gap analysis and baseline setting
- Phase 2–3 (2026): Sustainability framework design and action plan rollout
- Long-Term Goals:
- Net-Zero carbon emissions by 2040
- Restoration of 100 hectares of forest by 2030
- Conversion of 50 additional schools to LPG by 2027
