Background
The InterContinental Hotel closed its doors in August 2020 due to operational reasons, resulting in the loss of all jobs.
The hotel had faced financial difficulties in previous years, including a looming auction in 2019 due to unpaid debt.
The 51-year-old hotel is owned by Kenya Hotel Properties (KHP), a joint venture between InterContinental Hotels Corporation Ltd and the Kenyan government.
