“The industry needs to be agile and customer-centric to meet these evolving preferences,” said Priscilla Gathungu, CEO of Java House, at the launch event.
“We want to be accessible to our customers wherever they travel, which is why some of our most successful locations have been in transit areas.”
The new Java Express branch is strategically located to serve both the tourist-heavy county and residents of Voi. It’s anticipated to create jobs and contribute to the town’s economic development.
“This new branch signifies a major milestone for us,” said Gathungu. “It furthers our approach to becoming part of more communities in Kenya and beyond.”
The Voi branch is Java House’s 91st location and aligns with its strategic expansion plans across the region. It complements their existing delivery platforms to offer maximum convenience to customers.
Christine Saru Kilalo, Deputy Governor of Taita Taveta, sees the new branch as a sign of the county’s growing business potential, especially in hospitality. “Hosting a brand as renowned as Java House is a testament to the growth of our hospitality sector,” she said.
The Voi branch offers Java’s express menu, featuring popular coffee drinks, pastries, breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. They also have retail items like coffee packs, cookies, and cold brew coffee.
Since its founding in 1999, Java House has grown into a regional brand with three additional sister chains: Kukito (chicken), Planet Yoghurt (frozen yoghurt), and 360 Degrees Pizza.
