Carrefour, the Majid Al Futtaim-owned retail giant, has opened its 23rd store in Kenya at GTC Mall, Westlands.
The expansion strengthens Carrefour’s presence in Nairobi, offering residents greater convenience and product selection.
Christophe Orcet, Carrefour’s regional director, explained the company’s long-term commitment to Kenya and economic development.
He noted that the Carrefour GTC Mall will generate 50 new job opportunities, adding to the 2,200+ Kenyan employees.
“With the self-checkout service, Food to Go concept and 24-hour operations, our intention is to offer convenient solutions that will enhance the shopping experience. The opening is also a testament to our long-term commitment to Kenya and our dedication to contributing to the country’s economic development,” Orcet stated.

Currently, Carrefour operates 23 stores in the country, with Nairobi hosting 18 stores: two in Kisumu and three in Mombasa.
