Kenya Airways (KQ) is relaunching passenger flights between Nairobi and Eldoret starting March 25th, 2024, offering five weekly flights.
On Wednesday, Kenya Airways Chief Executive Allan Kilavuka said that the expansion is part of KQ’s post-pandemic growth strategy to strengthen its network.
“The airline remains committed to its mission to connect people, cultures, and markets, contributing to the prosperity and well-being of communities across Africa and beyond,” Kilavuka emphasised.
The airline will charge passengers an introductory fare of Sh8,505 for a one-way ticket.
The move comes despite the airline reporting a significant half-year loss in 2023 due to high financing costs and currency fluctuations.
KQ adds two new flights to New York
KQ is also adding two new temporary flights to New York City from June 15th to September 24th to cater to the rising travel demand and promote Kenya as a tourist destination in North America.
These flights bring the total number of KQ flights to New York to nine weekly. New departures will be offered on Thursdays and Saturdays, both morning and afternoon, from New York.
KQ said the new schedule allows for same-day arrival in New York with morning departures from Nairobi.
