Round two of the 2023/24 Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) season kicked off on Friday, September 1st, with eight matches scheduled through Saturday.
KCB and Kakamega Homeboyz, whose round one match was postponed, will make their season debuts in this round. KCB will play at home against AFC Leopards on Friday, while Homeboyz will play away against Murang’a Seal on Saturday.
League leaders Nzoia Sugar will travel to play Muhoroni Youth on Friday, while Ulinzi Stars will seek to bounce back from their opening-round loss when they host defending champions Gor Mahia on Saturday.
On Friday, Police FC will host Posta Rangers at the Police Sacco Stadium. Police have never lost to Rangers in the four matches they have played since their FKFPL debut two seasons ago. They have won the last three matches after their debut match ended in a 2-2 draw. Last season, Police won both home and away matches, scoring five goals and conceding just one.
Bandari will make their first away trip of the season on Friday to play Sofapaka at the Kasarani Annex. Both teams will be searching for their first victories of the season. Bandari began the campaign with a 1-0 loss at home to 10-man Tusker, while Sofapaka earned a point in a 1-1 draw with Gor Mahia at the Kasarani Main Stadium.
KCB will make their Football Kenya Federation Premier League season debut on Friday at the Kasarani Stadium and welcome AFC Leopards. The Bankers were not in action in round one as their scheduled match with Kakamega Homeboyz was postponed due to the latter’s continental engagements. KCB has not won against Leopards since a 1-0 victory in May of 2019.
Nzoia Sugar will hope to continue their momentum from their season-opening victory when they travel to play Muhoroni Youth in Muhoroni. Nzoia defeated Ulinzi Stars 2-1 on matchday one at the Sudi Stadium in Bungoma. New signings Victor Haki and Joseph Oyugi scored in the second half to cancel out Benjamin Mosha’s first-half opener.
