The Western regional finals of the Safaricom Chapa Dimba tournament will take place this weekend at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega.
Eight teams, four boys and four girls will compete for the regional title and a chance to qualify for the national finals.
The semi-finals will be held on Saturday, with the following matches:
- Chakol Queens (Busia) vs Brenda Girls (Bungoma) in the girls’ category
- Madira Soccer Assassins (Vihiga) vs Lugari Progressive (Kakamega) in the girls’ category
- The Menace (Kakamega) vs Ebwali Boys (Vihiga) in the boys’ category
- John Osogo (Busia) vs Compel Sportif (Bungoma) in the boys’ category
The finals will be held on Sunday, with the winners of each category receiving cash prizes and scholarships.

The tournament attracted 441 teams from four counties: Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia and Kakamega.
The teams that reached the Safaricom Chapa Dimba regional finals had to overcome tough competition from their county rivals.
Ebwali Boys won on penalties against Bunyore Assassin, Madira Soccer Assassins beat Maroon Queens by a single goal, and Compel Sportif and Brenda Girls scored two and six goals against Sirare Youth and Kim Girls respectively.
John Osogo edged out The Teen of Hope by a narrow margin, Chakol Queens defeated Kingandole Queens by four goals, and The Menace and Lugari Progressive won on penalties against Lugusi and Kakamega Starlets respectively.
“After winning the county finals, we immediately embarked on vigorous daily training. I know it’s not going to be a walk in the park, but we’re hoping for the best and praying to win because we aim to play in the national finals. Our goal is nothing less than victory,” said Dickson Simiyu of Brenda Girls.
