The Board of Sameer Africa Plc has named John Mugo as its managing director, effective January 1, 2023.
He will be taking over from Peter Gitonga, who retires from the company on December 31.
He joins Sameer from the real estate investment firm Heri Plc, where he has served as its Chief Operating Officer since April 2021.
According to his LinkedIn profile, he is an experienced and seasoned investment, operations, and business strategy leader with a proven ability to drive change and deliver growth of investment portfolios in the African region.
Previously, Mugo served as the Chief Operating Officer at investment firm TransCentury Plc and has held different senior roles at Tanelec Limited, East African Cables, and Bamburi Cement.
He holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nairobi and is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accounts of Kenya (ICPAK).
