Beiersdorf East Africa Ltd., the cosmetic manufacturer of the Nivea range of skincare products, has introduced a new body lotion range.
The New Radiant and Beauty Advanced Care body lotion targets consumers with melanin-rich skin in the Kenyan market.
“The last couple of days have been very exciting at NIVEA East Africa as we celebrated the launch of our most advanced and caring body lotion specifically made for melanin-rich skin,” Ms Abeba Mekuria, Beiersdorf’s Category Brand Manager Central, East and West Africa (CEWA) said.
“Having melanin-rich skin is like wearing a superpower as the skin is tougher, stronger and has a natural immune system. But it’s also prone to dryness, peeling and stretch marks hence, the unique habits of consumers reapplying lotions and mixing ingredients in search of deep moisture.
NIVEA has taken the best ingredient approach by combining 5 Natural Oils and 5 Vitamins for deep nourishment and a visible reduction of stretch marks in just 2 weeks. “
In South Africa, Godwin Harrison, Managing Director at Beiersdorf, said they are really proud of the progress they have made as a company on driving diversity, equity, and inclusion and how it is translating to investments in innovation for more diverse consumer groups.
“In many ways, the launch of the Radiant and Beauty range of body products feels like getting asked to dance, and although most Nivea products work great on melanin-rich skin, this one says to me- “I see you”.”
