The Co-operative Bank of Kenya has been named the Best Regional Bank in East Africa by the 2022 African Banker Awards.
Co-op Bank was awarded at the 16th edition of the African Banker Awards Gala Ceremony that took place Tuesday at the Kempinski Hotel, in Accra, Ghana.
The award recognises a lender who has excelled in the banking industry in its region by reaching out to new customers, offering new services, adopting inclusiveness by bringing the unbanked into the banking space, making use of new technologies and contributing to a stronger financial sector.
The winner of the African Bank of the Year, for the second year running, was awarded to the Standard Bank Group, the continent’s largest bank by assets and also by tier one capital.
