Multichoice says its DStv Premium subscribers can add Showmax as a value-added service at no additional charge.

However, DStv Compact, Compact Plus, Family and Access subscribers get Showmax at a 50 per cent discount.

“As our costs to operate the business increase, we need to adjust the prices of our packages,” DStv Kenya Tweeted Wednesday.

“We appreciate the feedback and acknowledge that Kenyan customers are under extreme pressure, and as such we have worked hard to keep the price increases as low as possible, while still ensuring we offer our customers the best quality service.”

The announcement was made at the Showmax Showcase celebrating upcoming titles on Showmax.

In late 2020, MultiChoice reported that it had 12.2 million 90-day active (subscriber) households in the rest of Africa and 8.9 million in South Africa.
