CIC Asset Managers’ market share rose to 39.01 percent from the 35.1 percent it held in March last year according to the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) latest data.
Assets under CIC Unit Trust surged to KSh29.78 billion in comparison with KSh22.39 billion held in a similar period last year making it the largest overall Unit Trust Fund Manager with an Assets Under Management (AUM).
“CIC Unit Trust scheme managed the highest assets under management of Sh29.78 billion which represents 39.01 percent of the total assets under management,” the CMA said in its June 2020 statistical bulletin.
In the report, Britam’s market share dropped slightly from 13.6 percent to 13.1 percent. It currently has KSh10 billion under its management.
ICEA scheme’s market share declined to 10.53 percent from 11.44 percent. However, its assets under its management rose to KSh8.04 billion.

The least portion of the total AUM at Kshs. 10.83 million is managed by Co-op Trust which joined in Q2 2019.
In the quarter ended March 2020, 50.5 percent of the total assets under management were invested in government securities. The government securities include; treasury bonds, treasury bills, and infrastructure bonds.
The least amount of the AUM at 0.452 percent was invested in Off-shore investments.
